Moscow has released American basketball star Brittney Griner from a Russian prison. BBC and Guardian published this news.
Britney was arrested in Russia in February for carrying marijuana. Carrying Gaza is a punishable offense in the country. Carrying up to 6 grams of marijuana is punishable by 15 days in jail. And if you are caught with more than this amount of marijuana, the punishment is severe.
Brittany Greiner was detained at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport on February 17. Russian authorities reported finding cannabis oil in his luggage. After a long trial, the Russian court sentenced him to 9 years in prison on August 4.
According to BBC and Guardian news, Britney was extradited to Moscow along with notorious Russian arms dealer Viktor Bot. For the past 12 years, Bhiktar has been imprisoned in a US prison.
Victor Bot was once known as the merchant of death. He was serving a 25-year sentence in a US prison.
