Portugal left the World Cup in Qatar with a 1-0 defeat against Morocco. Morocco became the first country in Africa to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo sat on the bench from the beginning of the match. He was taken off in the 51st minute of the match. Football fans who don't support Portugal may not have wanted to see Ronaldo on the bench yesterday. But it happened. Even if Ronaldo came down later, Portugal could not turn around.

There is a lot of criticism about Ronaldo being brought down later. However, Portugal coach Fernando Santos said, "Ronaldo has no regrets about playing later. I think this team played well against Switzerland. Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the team. He played when we thought he needed it. So there is no regret about it.

He also said, 'If you have to name two people who have suffered the most from such an exit from the World Cup - those two are Ronaldo and me. Of course we are disappointed. But it is part of the coach's and player's job.
