US-South Korea drills to counter North Korea threat

US and South Korea have started a four-day joint naval exercise. This is the first time in the last five years that the two countries are conducting such an exercise.

A day before this, North Korea conducted a ballistic missile test.
South Korean President Eun Suk Yu-yol pledged to maximize military cooperation with the United States after coming to power in May. After this exercise is being held.

The South Korean Navy said in a statement shortly after the start of the exercise, "This exercise will strengthen the relationship between South Korea and the United States in the face of provocation by North Korea." The exercise shows the strong desire of the two countries to jointly confront North Korea. Through the joint exercise, we will make the navies of the two countries more capable of conducting joint operations."

The South Korean Navy said more than 20 warships and several aircraft will participate in the four-day exercise. Warship and submarine destruction operations will be conducted within the exercise.

The president of South Korea has announced the continuation of joint exercises with America. America has 28,500 troops deployed in South Korea.
